Posted

On Monday, February 01, 2026 Deputy Hacker (JCSO Badge #110) was dispatched to a residence on Mildred Road in reference to a male subject who allegedly walked into a random person’s house uninvited and then proceeded to walk back and forth of this residence for approximately 10 minutes before leaving on foot.

According to Uniform Citation #FB33668, when Deputy Hacker arrived on the scene, the male had already left and had been given a ride by an individual in a truck. When Deputy Hacker located the male, Hacker reported that the male was noticeably erratic and seemed to be extremely nervous. When the officer spoke to the male, he asked him if he was the one who had walked into someone’s home and was attacked by a dog.

The male, identified as Robert Andrew Weist, 22, of McKee, KY, denied it was him and asked Deputy Hacker if he could use his phone to call his Mom. Weist then asked if the Deputy could give him a ride to Barbourville.

Weist was asked if he was on any illegal substance and he stated that he was. When asked what substance he had taken, Weist advised that he had smoked methamphetamine. When asked when he had smoked meth, Weist stated that he smoked it 8 days ago.

Deputy Hacker asked if he had smoked any recently and he advised the officer that he had been drinking and was a “lil’ drunk”. Deputy Hacker repeated the question, asking whether he had been the one who walked into a stranger’s house uninvited, and he stated that he was.

Deputy Hacker then spoke with the owner of the residence in question and was provided with a video of this male while he was walking up and down the road in front of the residence. The male in the video matched Robert Weist's appearance.

Weist was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Detention Center where he was booked and charged with criminal trespass, 1st degree and public intoxication – controlled substance (excludes alcohol).

Weist was released on his own recognizance on Tuesday, February 02, 2026 whila waiting his arraignment in court.
