Nancy Marie Caldwell (Jackson) obituary

Nancy Marie Caldwell (Jackson), best known as "Granny" was born on the 20th day of March in 1929 to Elijah a Tishie Caldwell. Nancy departed this life on the 13th day of November 2025 being 96 years and eight months of age.  She married her first husband Foister Milton Caldwell on the 9th day of March in 1946 and through the years She and Foister became the parents of ten children. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Foister, who passed away on October 20, 1982.  She was also preceded in death by three children, Marlin Daniel Caldwell, Lester Caldwell and Cassie Louise Caldwell.  Nancy is survived by one bother Harlan Caldwell of Corbin, Ky. and one sister, Hester Helton of Helton, Ky. also surviving are seven children, Kathy Jones and husband Richard of Hamilton, Ohio, Danny (Dangerous Dan) Caldwell and wife Sue of Annville, Ky., Anita Kiely and husband Donald of Manchester, Ky., Darlene Gabbard and husband Joey of Annville, Ky., Raymond Lewis Caldwell and wife Trish of Tyner, Ky., Donald Caldwell and wife Colleen and Annville, Ky, and Foister Caldwell Jr. and fiancé Gail Mobley of Annville, Ky..  Nancy is also survived by numerous (too many to count} grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends from around the world.

    In later life married her second husband, Lawrence Jackson, who also preceded her in death on March 20th, 2002.  She is survived by five step-children: Phillip, Essilene, David, Effilene and Johnny.

Nancy loved to sew and make quilts; she loved to garden and can food.  She would cook for anyone that stopped by her house. She has taught many young ladies how to cook, and especially how to make homemade biscuits.  Nancy spent many years working for the Community Store at Red Bird where she would collect clothes, shoes and household goods for so many families.

She most recently wrote, an article called "Granny's Porch" that was published in the Jackson County Times newspaper. People from around the country came to know her as "Granny" for her many childhood stories.

But most of all Granny loved to play her Guitar and sing for, and to, her Lord Jesus Christ.  She was a regular church go-er, and attended services up until a month ago.  She was a member of The Little Country Church in Annville, 

Nancy "Granny" will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Our loss is heaven's gain.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday November 17th, 2025, at The Little Country Church 1553 Highway 3443, Annville, Ky. with, Bro.Reed Brock, Bro. Jim Perine and Bro. Brian Gabbard officiating with burial in the Caldwell Family Cemetery next to the church.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM Sunday Nov 16th, 2025, at the church.

PALLBEARERS: will be her grand and -grandchildren: Jonathan Caldwell, Levi Caldwell, Chris Dyal, Nicholas Fletcher, Jesse Brandenburg and Jonah Hudson.
