Polly Gail Lakes was born November 20, 1955 and departed this life on February 6, 2024. A native of McKee, Kentucky, she was a graduate of the University of Kentucky school of nursing and worked as a nurse for many years in Berea, Kentucky. She moved to Frankfort, Kentucky after her retirement and had many friends in both communities.
She is survived by her husband, Lee Creech of Frankfort, and three siblings: sister Loretta Miller and husband Jerry Miller of Panama City Beach, Florida; sister Sharon Buckingham and husband Tommy Buckingham of Morristown, Tennessee; and brother Lowell Lakes of Morristown, Tennessee. She also leaves behind one son, Brentley Jay Harding of Berea, Kentucky; and a grandson, Keaton Robinson of Berea.
She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Frankfort and sang in the church choir.
Polly loved gardening, animals, music, and outdoor activities of all kinds. She was known for her outgoing nature, generosity and care for others, always manifest in both her professional and personal life. She will be deeply missed and always remembered by the many people whose lives she touched.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Lakes Funeral Home in McKee. Burial will follow in the T.M. Lakes Cemetery in Sand Gap. Pallbearers were Camden, Brody & Shannon Buckingham, Greg Miller, Keaton Robinson & Jay Hardin. Lakes Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. www.lakesfuneralhomemckee.com
