Press Release from the Berea Police Department Regarding Alleged Murder-Suicide

Press Release from Berea Police Department:

On Sunday, December 14th, 2025 at approximately 12:33 a.m, Berea Police Officers responded to the residence of 113 Leslie Drive, Berea in reference to a welfare check.
Caller advised Dispatch she was on the phone with the resident, when she heard a loud noise and the resident stopped responding. The caller stated she did not know what had happened other than she might have fell.

Units arrived on scene and observed an open door and made entry into the residence. When entering the residence units located Marjorie Berry, 76 of Berea, who had suffered a fatal gun shot wound.
Units were made aware by the caller that the suspect in question was identified as the victim's son, Kevin Berry, 51 of Berea.

Units were sent to two residences in Berea to attempt to locate Berry. Berea Police and Madison County Sheriff's Office were unable to locate Berry at both residences and attempted a ping of Berry's cell phone. The ping was unsuccessful.

An Attempt to Locate was sent county wide and to surrounding counties in reference to a Red Chevy Sonic, registered to Marjorie Berry that was being driven by Kevin Berry.

Detectives and Coroners Office responded to the scene in reference to further investigation.

At approximately 10:50 a.m December, 14th 2025 KSP Post 11 and Whitley County Sheriff's Office located the the Red Chevy Sonic via cell phone ping. Both agencies attempted to make contact with Berry inside the vehicle and he was not responding to commands given. When they approached the vehicle they observed Berry with a fatal self inflicted gun shot wound.
