Ruby Craft Martin, of McKee, KY, was born December 30, 1927, in Clay County and departed this life Friday, May 10, 2024 at her residence, being 96 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Albert & Emma Clark Craft.
Ruby is survived by her son, James T. Martin Jr. and his wife Lelia; one granddaughter Holly Martin Akemon and her husband Jason; one grandson Tal Martin; and the following great grandchildren Reed Akemon and his wife Holly; Olivia Akemon Williams and her husband Buie; Clay Akemon, Miles Martin, and Harbor Martin. She is also survived by two sisters, Ollie Counsel and Georgia Banks.
Along with her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her loving husband, James T. Martin Sr.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Manford Craft, Herbert Craft, Albert Craft, and Richard Craft. And by six sisters, Joyce Craft, Marie Burch, Edna Mills, Hazel Luttrell, Mallie Murphy and Mae Ray.
She was of the Baptist Faith and she was a member of the McKee Baptist Church. She was a retired teacher of 30 years.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, May 12, 2024, at the Tal Martin Cemetery with Bro. Ron Maharrey officiating. Pallbearers were Reed Akemon, Clay Akemon, Buie Williams, Jason Akemon, Jimmy Martin, Rodger Sparks and Tal Martin.
