Our sweet and precious mommy gained her Angel wings on Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 12:21 PM at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, KY.
Sarah was born May 6, 1949. She was the second born to Granvill McCoy and Margaret (Spencer) Spencer.
Survivors include two daughters, Maggie (Leon) Clemmons of Sand Gap, KY and Angie Spurlock of Berea, KY and by two sons, Dougie Leppard and Dale Leppard both of Sand Gap, KY. She was also survived by nine grandchildren, David, Douglas, Derek & Timara Clemmons of Sand Gap, KY, Tyler Leppard of Sand Gap, KY, Michael Spurlock of Berea, KY, Megan Spurlock of Berea, KY, James Spurlock of Tyner, KY and Josh Jordan (Rana) of St. Louis, Missouri.
Sarah is also survived by the following brothers and sisters, Lee Spencer of Simpsonville, KY, Della Heckler (Tom) of Louisville, KY, Irvine Spencer of Madison Co., KY, Kathy Blades of McKee, KY, Chuck Spencer of Madison Co., KY, Mitch Sorrell of Illinois, Peggy Elam of Berea, KY and Lisa Isaacs of Sand Gap, KY. She was also blessed with seven great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parent, Sarah was also preceded in death by the following siblings, Bobby Spencer, Morgan Spencer, Harold Sorrell, Danny Bowles; by a brother-in-law Tim Elam she thought of Tim more as a brother, by sister-in-law Donna Sorrelland by her best friend, Brenda Horn.
Services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 16, 2026 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Gerald Maupin officiating. Burial will follow in the Clemmons & Leppard Cemetery. Pallbearers: David, Douglas, Derek & Timara Clemmons, Tyler Leppard, Michael, James & Megan Spurlock and Brandon & Bryan Elam.
