The Jackson County Middle School Generals closed out their regular season on a high note last Thursday with a decisive road victory over Harlan, finishing the campaign with a 3-6 record. With the middle school slate officially concluded, the team’s 8th graders are set to transition directly to the high school JV program. This move will allow incoming high schoolers to begin practicing with the older squad immediately, helping them acclimate to varsity-level pacing and schemes ahead of next fall.
Meanwhile, the JCMS Junior Varsity squad capped off a stellar regular season of their own by also securing a victory against Harlan. The win clinched the #1 overall seed for the JV Generals in the conference playoffs. They will kick off postseason action at home this Tuesday, October 5th, against Harlan as they fight for a spot in the title game. Jackson County will also host the Mountain Middle School Conference Championships on Saturday, October 10th. The 5/6 grade championship game is scheduled for an 11:00 AM kickoff, followed immediately by the 7/8 grade championship matchup at 1:00 PM.
