Sharon Lynn Weaver Newman, 65, wife of Carl "Pete" Newman, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. Born July 14, 1959, in Berea, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Eva Marie Weaver Smith, raised in McKee, KY. Sharon worked for Lextran for 35 years where she was a supervisor. She enjoyed cooking, especially Sunday breakfast. Sharon was also an avid viewer of General Hospital. She was kind, caring, and never turned anyone away. Sharon's greatest joy in life was being Mamaw to her precious grandchildren.
Sharon will be forever loved and remembered by her devoted husband of 47 years, Carl "Pete" Newman, Georgetown; daughters, Crystal (Thomas) Hilton, Versailles, Stephanie Newman, Georgetown, Carla Newman, Georgetown, Stacey Sutherland, Georgetown; brothers, Charles "Randy" (Jessie) Weaver, McKee, Richard "Rick" Smith, Georgetown; grandchildren, Jordan Sutherland, Matthew Sutherland, Quinton Hilton, Tre Winkfield, Isaiah Winkfield, Zach Parker, Jacob Winkfield, Cameron Lunger, Nicholas Hilton, Peyton Hilton, Kinlee Newman, Elijah Sutherland, and Kairi Newman; expecting great granddaughter, Rayleigh Everett Reynolds Hilton.
Visitation Gathering will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Tucker, Yokum and Wilson Funeral Home, 320 West Main Street Georgetown, KY. Memorial Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 30, 2024, at Lakes Funeral Home, 1181 Main Street, McKee, KY. Memorial Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Banks Cemetery in Gray Hawk at a later date.
