Jackson County Sheriff Daniel Isaacs reported to the public that on Friday June 26th, 2026 at approximately 7:22 pm Jackson County Deputy Sheriff Chris Baldwin arrested Willie Steele of McKee, KY.
The arrest occurred along Ridgeway East within the city limits of McKee following a call for service regarding theft of property from the Jackson County Transfer Station. Deputy Baldwin was given a physical description of the male alleged, and a direction of travel.
Upon arriving in the area of Ridgeway East Deputy Baldwin located a male exiting the woodline coming from the direction of the transfer station holding items in his hand, and readily observed him to match the physical description provided.
A contact was made where this male was detained pending investigation, and throughout the course of this investigation Steele was determined have been the male alleged in this complaint. He was subsequently taken into custody without further incident.
Throughout the course of this investigations Steele was found to be in possession of marijuana.
Willie Steele was transported to and lodged in the Jackson County Detention Center on the charges of: Theft by Unlawful Taking, Possession of Marijuana, and Drug Paraphernalia (buy/possess.)
The property mentioned will be delivered back to the Jackson County Transfer Station.
Deputy Baldwin was assisted at the scene by Deputy J.R. Weaver, and Special Deputy Brandon Evans.
