William Robert (Bill) Williamson was born on 3/15/31 in Barbourville, KY and passed peacefully while surrounded by loved ones on 10/30/24.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents George and Ruby, siblings Edward, Paul, Louella, and G.R. Williamson and Flora Roe Moore.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of over 66 years Shirley; his children Melissa Jan Williamson, Louella Williamson, Martha (David) Thurman; his granddaughters Jennifer (Chad) and Stephanie Thurman; his beloved adopted granddaughters Alexa, Autumn and Amber; great granddaughters Abby and Stella; great grandson Cash David; sisters Ann (Paul) Teague and Patsy (Bill) Thomas; and a niece and several nephews.
Bill was a man of deep, abiding faith. His faith served him well throughout his long life and his 29 years as a Kentucky State Police officer. He was a Navy veteran serving as an underwater demolition expert and boatswain. Bill was a member of the Masonic lodge, Scottish Rite and Eastern Star. He served as a member of the Jackson County Board of Education for 8 years.
An avid traveler, he and Shirley spent his retirement years traveling the United States Canada and Alaska. He was a passionate gardener and loved tending to his apple orchard. Bill loved to plant trees and planted his last trees this past spring.

A visitation for Bill will be held from 1P.M. until 3P.M. on Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the Lakes Funeral Home in McKee.
There will be DAV service held at 3P.M. Sunday
