Christmas On the Square & Breakfast with Santa
December 04, 2024
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I spent some quality time with family and friends and I hope you had the chance to as well. It is not hard to see how blessed we really are when we start trying to count them. I am thankful the weather didn't turn harsh and make roads impassable so that everyone had an opportunity to go where they needed to go during this Thanksgiving season.
Christmas is just around the corner and our small town is starting to resemble the spirit of Christmas. This coming Thursday, December 5th, will be the annual "Christmas on the Square" event. Festivities are scheduled to begin at 5:30 pm. There will be a parade, performances by local schools. fun and games for all ages as well as the annual Christmas tree lighting. This is always a well attended event and I hope you can make plans to bring your family out and enjoy small town Christmas at its best.
On Saturday December 7th, we will continue with the Christmas cheer with the annual "Breakfast with Santa" event. This event will be held at the Extension Service Conference center in McKee at 10:00 am. There will be a pancake breakfast followed by storytime with Mrs Clause and a visit from Santa himself. Jackson County is one of Santa's favorite stops and he would love to have you visit him Saturday morning. The cost is only $5 per person and 100% of the proceeds go to support the Jackson County Food Bank, New Zion Food Pantry and Sand Gap Christian Church Food Pantry. Plus PRTC is matching every donation. You can purchase tickets at my office, The Jackson County Public Library or at the door the day of the event.
My hope and prayers are that this is one of the best Holiday seasons you've ever had. Have a blessed week.
