This week's Jasckson County Sun on the shelf! Mailbox delivery will be delayed by one day due to Postal Service

The Jackson County Sun is on the shelf in local businesses, and the online edition has been posted on our website: Jacksonsunky.com  However, the issue this week will be delayed by one day for those getting home delivery. 

The United States Postal Service will not be delivering mail on Thursday to honor the late former President Jimmy Carter.

President Joe Biden declared Jan. 9 as a National Day of Mourning. It is the same day the official state funeral for Carter will be held at the Washington National Cathedral.

As a result of the designation, the Postal Service will not deliver mail. Its offices and facilities will be closed, but there will be “limited package delivery service on that day to ensure the organization does not experience any negative impacts to its package delivery operations.”

Regular activities and service will resume on Friday.
