JCHS Cross Country Teams Honored at 49[th] District Tournament

 The JCHS Boys' and Girls' Cross Country teams were recognized and honored during halftime of the Lady Generals' opening game in the 49[th] District Tournament against Clay County. The Boys' team members include Jadyn Agee, Jake Collett, Jake Cross, Braxton Hoskins, Brody Isaacs, Ben Rader, Merrick Rader, Jared Rogers, Malachi Shannon, and Avery Stewart. The Girls' team members include Keyana Adams, Layla Anderson, Lillie Davidson, Brooklyn Hammonds, Makynna King, Natalie Sandlin, Isabelle Shearer, Lauryn Sizemore, Emily Summers, Jaden Wagers, Mackenzie White, and Candace Williams. 

The Boys' Cross Country team claimed their six[th] Regional Championship this year, marking a back-to-back Championships for them. Additionally, for the first time in school history, the JCHS Girls' Cross Country team also captured the Regional Championship. This historic achievement marks a new chapter of success for the school's Cross Country program. 
The school also honored individuals from each team. 

Isabelle Shearer had an unforgettable season. Not only did she claim the Individual Regional Title for the third consecutive year, but she also earned All-State Honors. Isabelle has signed with Eastern Kentucky University as a Division 1 signee and will run for them next year. In addition, Layla Anderson placed third overall. Brooklyn Hammonds finished in the Top Ten. Makynna King secured a spot in the Top Fifteen. 

Malachi Shannon earned All-State Honors for the Boys' team and finished as the Individual Regional Runner-Up. Merrick Rader finished in the Top Five, and Jake Collett earned a spot in the Top Ten. 

Dean Rader coaches the teams with assistant coach Andrea Rader. Congratulations to both teams and all members for a historic season!
