Laurel County Man Pleads Guilty to Vehicular Homicide

Laurel County Sheriff John Root reported that last week Wesley N. Allen age 31 of London pled guilty in Laurel Circuit Court to Vehicular Homicide to a recommended sentence of 15 years regarding a fatal crash investigation conducted by Laurel Sheriff's Detective Brad Mink  and other Sheriff's investigators. 

Detective Mink, a Laurel Sheriff's Accident Reconstructionist, investigated the two vehicle traffic crash which occurred on KY 192 approximately 4 miles west of London on November 28, 2023 at approximately 10:17 PM. 

Detective Mink determined through investigation that a silver colored GMC pickup driven by Wesley Allen was westbound on KY 192 and crossed the centerline striking a silver colored Honda civic head-on driven by Fred Johnson age 64 of London who was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

It was determined through investigation that Wesley N. Allen was under the influence at the time of the crash. Allen was arrested and charged with murder. 

Officers assisting on the investigation included for the Laurel County Sheriff's office Sgt. Travis Napier and other deputies. Also assisting at the scene were London – Laurel County rescue squad, ambulance Inc. of Laurel County, Laurel County fire department, the Laurel County coroner's office.
