Knox County Woman Faces Charges After Attacking Daughter with Butcher Knife

A Knox County woman is facing charges after deputies say she attacked her daughter with a butcher knife during a dispute.
According to an arrest citation, the incident happened on May 31 at a home on North KY 11 in Barbourville.

When deputies arrived, they found 60-year-old Susan Foley standing outside the home. Deputies say Foley showed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech, the smell of alcohol, and unsteady footing.
Foley’s daughter told deputies the argument escalated when her mother went to the kitchen, grabbed a butcher knife, and swung it at her. The daughter said she tried to grab the knife, but Foley yanked it away, cutting her hand. Deputies say Foley then continued to cut her daughter’s hand.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment.
Foley is facing charges of assault and alcohol intoxication in a public place.
