Jackson County Fiscal Court Addresses Rumors About Garbage Bill Rate Increase

The Jackson County Fiscal Court reported:

"It has come to our attention this morning that there is a rumor circulating that trash bills were raised to $35 a month. This is completely false information. There have been no changes in the cost of trash pickup at this time.
We realize that there is a delay in receiving your paper bill over the course of the last two months. When the new treasurer took over, the postal agreement that we had became void. We had to apply to the IRS to change that over. This process on their end is taking some time. We apologize for the inconvenience. We are accepting debit/credit card payments over the phone at this time. There is no extra charge for this option. We will also accept payments in the office. Again, we apologize for this, but it is out of our control.
