Whitley County used a strong second and third quarter surge to pull away from Jackson County for a 75-62 win in a big 13th Region matchup last Friday (December 12, 2025). The loss was the first for the Generals this season, dropping their record to 4-1 on the season.
The Colonels, now 3-1 on the season, were tied with Jackson County 20-20 at the end of the first quarter before taking control with a 41-32 halftime lead. Whitley County then broke the game open in the third quarter, outscoring the Generals 24-12 to build a commanding 65-44 advantage entering the fourth.
Joona Holm led Jackson County with 17 points, while Brennon Combs chipped in 14 points. Tansen Truett scored 9 points, Wyatt Gray scored 8 pts, Braxton Coyle scored 7 pts, Tyler Sandlin scored 6 pts, and Ashton Clemons scored 1 pt.
Joona Holm also led the team on the glass pulling down 18 rebounds. Tansen Truett grabbed 10 boards in the loss.
The Generals have moved up to 8th place in the 13th Region based on a superb beginning to their season!
The Generals have two home games this week. Coach Stewart and his team will host OBI on Tuesday (7:30 PM), followed by Barbourville on Thursday (December 18, 2025).
