Student Perspective: Generals and Lady Generals play Double-Header against 49th District Rival Clay County

The game that every Jackson County native and Generals basketball fan has grown to love, Jackson County vs. Clay County, the first of two season double-headers against the Tigers, ended in 1-1.
Beginning the night, the Varsity Lady Generals faced off against the Lady Tigers in a nail-biting, hard-fought victory. Winning 43-39, the Lady's gave everything on the court, working together seamlessly and leaving the Lady Tigers in defeat. After the game, one of the many asset players of Jackson County was asked about the team's performance during their first Clay game of the season, this is what Baylee Berry had to say, "In my opinion, we all done good and played together as a team. We came in knowing it was going to be a dogfight and fought hard to win. Same thing with the Valentine's Day game, it's going to be a rough game but we're just going to have to fight through it."
The second game of the night would be the Generals. While the game ended in an unwelcome loss, the boys fought until the final buzzer rang. Regarding the 78-37 defeat, returning player, Ashton Clemons said, "We knew it was going to be a hard-fought battle going into the game. We always look forward to the Clay-Jackson game, they are always the best... can't wait to see them come to Jackson on the 14th. Bleed Blue and Red. Go, Generals!"
Both the Lady Generals and the Generals will go back to bat with the Clay County Tigers on February 14th - only this time on their home court.
