On June 01, 2025 KSP Trooper J. Coffey observed two motorcycles traveling south of US Hwy 421 inside the city limits of McKee, KY. According to uniform citation #EZ10713, Trooper Coffey observed that the second motorcycle had no visible license plate.

A traffic stop was attempted and both motorcycles failed to stop.

The chase turned right onto McCammon Ridge Road and then right onto Mill Creek Road. There was a tree down across the road and both individuals abandoned their motorcycles and fled into the woods.

Trooper Coffey gave chase and was able to apprehend one of the subjects, later identified as Christopher Blevins, 37, of McKee, KY. Trooper Coffey reported in the uniform citation that as a result of the chase, his uniform had been ruined.

Upon returning to his cruiser after apprehending Blevins, Trooper Coffey observed Brittany Hamman, 31, of McKee, KY "messing with the motorcycles."

She stated that one of the subjects was her husband. Hamman was advised to leave the scene immediately or she would be charged. Hamman refused to leave and stated she was going to stay there.

Hamman was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Detention Center where she was booked and charged with obstructing governmental operations.

Mr. Blevins was taken into custody and placed in the Trooper's patrol car. The motorcycle license plate on the bike being driven by Blevins was given to KSP Post 7. They advised that the registration expired 11/09/2025 and it had no valid insurance. Post 7 also advised that Mr. Blevins had no operator's license.

Mr. Blevins was taken to the Jackson County Detention Center where he was booked and charged with fleeing or evading police, 1[st] degree (motor vehicle), fleeing or evading police, 1[st] degree (on foot), no operators/moped license, no registration receipt, no registration plates, failure to produce insurance card, failure of owner to maintain required insurance, 1[st] offense, reckless driving, and criminal mischief, 2[nd] degree.

Blevins appeared before Judge Henria Bailey-Lewis in District Court on Monday (June 02, 2025) for arraignment on the charges. (The case was assigned #25-F-00068)

Blevins entered pleas of "not guilty" to all charges. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for June 09[th], 2025. Judge Bailey-Lewis ruled that bail credit was denied, Blevins should be considered a "danger to self or others", and also a flight risk.
As in all cases at this stage of adjudication, the charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until provided due process and determined to be guilty by the court.
