Due to the slick roads and cold temps the Generals only played one game last week !!
The Generals squared off with the Mountaineers of OBI for the second time this season. This contest would be played in McKee on top of the hill at the end of Educational Mountain Drive. The Mountaineers came in as a slight favorite according to RPI ratings. The Mountaineers defeated the Generals earlier in the season at Oneida 51-48.
This game lived up to all the hype as the first quarter would see the two teams exchange the lead several times, ending up OBI 17- JC 13 at the end of one. The Generals turned the ball over several times early in the second quarter to fall behind as much as 12 points. The Generals decided to turn up the heat on defense a little themselves as they clawed their way back to trail 34-30 at the half. The second quarter saw two seniors, Braxton Clemmons and Keagan Ward score 13 of the 17 second-quarter points. The third quarter was a dog fight as the Generals, led by Singleton and Ward, outscored the Mountaineers by 2 / 14-12 and trailed 46-44 after three quarters. The Generals tightened down the defense in the fourth only allowing the Mountaineers to score 7 points as they scored 12 of their own to claim victory 56-53 and move to 8-9 on the season. The Varsity Generals will be back in action this week 1-28-25 at RedBird. On 1-30-25 Bourbon County will come to McKee. On 1-31-25 The Generals will travel to Manchester to take on the Tigers, and on 2-1-25 the Casey County Rebels will come to town to close out the week.
