Anna Mae Bowles McCollum Obituary
Anna Mae Bowles McCollum, was called to her eternal home on June 6,
2024, at the age of 86. Born on October 11, 1937, in McKee, Kentucky,
Anna Mae was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her life.
Though she was preceded in death by her beloved parents, John Dock and
Stella Mae Lakes Bowles; her son, Jerry Bowles; and her siblings, John D.
Bowles, Jr., Thelma Bowles McClellan, Betty Sue Bowles Crutcher, Donald
Lewis Bowles, and Linda Ambrose Deathridge; Anna Mae's legacy of love
persists through her surviving family. She leaves behind her sons, Ricky
(Debby) Bowles and John McCollum, Jr; her sister, Nancy Ambrose Kirk;
her cherished grandchildren, Josh (Jennifer) Bowles, Karah (Adam) Short,
Jeremy Bowles, and Aubrey Bowles; her adored great-grandchildren,
Jaydon, Grayson, Belle, Archer Bowles, Vivieann and Grant Short, and
Lucas Bowles; and her loyal dog, Princess.
Anna Mae was a proud charter member of Copper Creek Baptist Church,
where she joyfully served as the Sunday School secretary for many years.
Her faith was unwavering, and she lived her life as a shining example of
Christian grace and loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ dearly.
Funeral services will be 2pm, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at Lakes Funeral
Home with Bro Ron Roberts officiating. Entombment will follow in the
Berea Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-
9pm at the funeral home. Services will be livestreamed at
Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Bowles, Josh Bowles, Jayden Bowles,
Tim Kirk, Grayson Bowles, and Robbie Johnson. Honorary bearers will be
Chris Bowles, Jason Ambrose, Sammy Crutcher, Adam Short, Kenny
Bowles, Jeremy Powell, Scottie Johnson, and Brent Whittamore.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to assist in
expenses.
